Description
A typographic profile of the Cheltenham typeface, "one of the most controversial typefaces designed in America" by Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue and Ingalls Kimball in 1896. The reason I chose Cheltenham, and eventually fell in love with it, is the uniqueness of the neck and loop of the lowercase g. The top of the poster features the "tell-tale square," showing the typical characteristics of Cheltenham. In the lower part of the poster, I discuss the the history, style and uses of the typeface.
